Like an explosion or eruption frozen in time, the Black-Light hangs like an ominous cloud projecting rays of intense coloured light from within its torn and twisted surface. 

The Black-Light is assembled from layers of matt black foil that are scrunched up and distorted by hand into a rose-like form. The light radiates from within projecting through coloured lighting gels and out between these layers of black foil.

The concept for the light came from a  black coloured foil Davidson had found discarded on a studio floor whist working as an art director on a TV show.
