Southern Sweden Design Days 2023

Charlie Davidson Studio presents a collection of extreme bodies disguised in the form of a number of chaise lounges, an object long associated with femininity and seduction. Made over a ten year period and implementing a diverse array of materials, manufacturing processes and computer modelling techniques, Davidson creates a narrative on societies role in shaping, distorting and objectifying the female body. At the heart each individual chaise lounge lies a unique structure intrinsic to its overall aesthetic and form that negates the need for a body or mannequin to support the final design.
